Two separate work accidents just ten days in Norfolk England has left two people killed.

The first a 60 year old man dies and another seriously injured whilst working on the outer harbor in Great Yarmouth at the Peterson decommissioning yard on the 17th October..

Norfolk Police said both men were seriously injured and taken to hospital but it has since emerged that one of the men died at the scene.

The second fatality reported was a man in his late teens who died in a reported industrial incident in a Norfolk village, police confirmed.

The man died on Saturday afternoon from an unexplained cause, in an incident which saw police, the fire service, and the ambulance service called to the scene.

The man, who was in his late teens, died on the scene at Thorpe Row, Shipdham, near Dereham.

Police said they arrived at the scene after 5pm, following reports of an industrial incident and that the man’s death is being treated as unexplained at this stage.

With safety budgets and safety training being cut for many companies along with staff reductions, the number of incidents like these two will continue to rise.
